Our Crew ... at the
Stagecoach Inn |
|
Steve Symonds, General
Manager |
|
Steve was born in Muscatine, Iowa and was born
rooting for the Chicago Bears right out of the womb. He grew up with 3
brothers and 3 sisters, one of them his twin brother. He spent a lot
of time as a kid playing baseball and soccer. His first job was
working for the Muscatine Journal as a paper boy, putting that good
throwing arm to use. He went on to play soccer at the University of
Northern Iowa where he graduated with a B.A. in Biology. Today, he
loves to golf with his big brother Dave, who just happens to be the
owner of Stagecoach Inn and Craftwood Inn. He enjoys hanging out with
his friends singing karaoke, going to see the Rockies play, and
spending time with his family. We love Steve! |

Bruce Harris, Manager |
|
Bruce was born here in Colorado Springs at
Penrose Hospital just down the road from the Stagecoach. He grew up
camping in the Colorado Mountains with his brother and 2 sisters. His
first job was in Manitou Springs at Patsy's Candies as a Cotton Candy
Expert, the shop still sells cotton candy today next to the Penny
Arcade. He attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated
with a B.A. in Field Biology with a minor in Cultural Anthropology.
After school, he took a job where he worked many years for Grand Lake
Lodge located at the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.
He loves fishing with his boys, playing golf, and he loves being a
spectator to all sports. He is most proud of his beautiful wife and
his two incredible boys. |

Jess Wentling, Bar
Manager |
|
Jess is one of the funniest girls I know here at
the Stagecoach. When asked to fill out the bio sheet for this
blurb, she proved just that. In her words, she was born in the
backseat of a greyhound bus driving down highway 41. She attended the
school of hard knocks, I'm not sure which branch. Her first job was
selling seashells by the sea shore (her name was Sally back then). And
one thing you might not know about Jess is that she is actually a
millionaire, she just works here to stay grounded and to stay in touch
with the little people (right). I think she is a fantastic writer and
a very smart girl. You'll have to check out her blog 'The Poor Mans
Carrie Bradshaw', hilarious! |

Bob Swain, Executive
Chef |
Bob was born in Montreal, Quebec but his family
soon moved to Phoenix, Arizona when he was 3 months old. He grew up
going tubing in Salt River with his sister. His father, mother, and
sister all still live in Arizona, but in 1989 Bob came to Colorado for
a change of atmosphere. He got a job at the Plaza Club, working with 2
other local chefs, Chip Johnson (owner of The Warehouse) and Jeff
Knight (former chef at Craftwood Inn) when they were just starting out
as well. He now enjoys spending time with his family traveling to
sports events for his kids, playing guitar, and riding A.V.'s. He
absolutely love sports, cheering for the Rockies, Nuggets, and
Avalanche on a daily basis, he almost never misses a game. Beyond
that, he loves being a chef and it shows. My favorite dish of his is
the Smoked Pheasant Chowder, yum!

Jessie Estes, Marketing
Director |

Jessie was born in Missouri and moved to Southern
California with her family at the age of 12. She attended San Dieguito
Arts Academy and continued on to the Art Institute of San Diego,
graduating with a degree in Advertising and a minor in Graphic Design.
Her first post graduation position was selling advertising space for
PhotoWorld Magazine, then she shortly moved on as a graphic designer
for Deal Design Group. After 6 months of designing, she moved back
into sales, selling Canon and Panasonic copy machines for South Coast
Copy Systems. She worked there for 3 years and then decided to follow
her family to Colorado in 2003. She then worked as a Sales Coordinator
at the Colorado Springs Marriott(s) for 4 years before making her move
to Manitou Springs as the Marketing Director for Stagecoach Inn and
our sister restaurant, Craftwood Inn. She has been with us for over 4
years now. She loves the outdoors, hiking, camping, and fishing.
Jessie is a periodic volunteer for the Humane Society and the Colorado
Division of Wildlife and loves working with animals and wildlife. We
are definitely happy to have her, since being with us, she has gained
the title of 'Red', our online marketing guru! |
